Nice rifle. That is about the nicest one I have seen as far as condition goes.  Why are Hawken half stock rifles so valuable?  If they carried  any other name except Hawken on the barrel, they would probably be worth about a grand.  They don't have a lot   exceptional beauty   that really appeals to me. They just look like a very practical rifle.

There are/were 3 Hawkens out of the closet ; the early fullstock in Roanoke,Va for 32800.00, the half stock in Kalispel Montana that looks almost too good to be true, for 57,000.00, and now this one. Sure is a lot of money, but ,hey, if I was to win one of these obscene lotterys, I would buy all 3 of em, just cause.
You keepin warm up there ALV ? Bone chillin here Have a goodun, Dave 8) 8)

Nice rifle. Stock and checkering look almost new while metal looks well used. Also the local squirrel rifles seldom bring what Hawken plains rifles bring. Still, somebody may think this is there chance to get one.
