Looking for a Bag mold for a pistolcase.
« on: January 12, 2018, 03:09:44 PM »
I'm working on a pistol case for a pair of dragoons. The pistol barrels are made from a 20mm(Caliber 0.79) Vulcan canon barrel.  Looking for a suitable bag mold to include in the case. Can't find any big enough. Where can I get a bag mold custom made?

Best regards
Rolf

Larry Callahan at 314-288-5430 might be able to help you out but that size sounds big so it would have to be made custom I think.

+1 on Larry Callahan.  His site says he "can make any other size to the thousandth."  Just tell him the size you need on the custom order page!

He has made a brass round ball mold for me, size 0.77,it has to be used With modern Lee handels. The mold is great, but Looks kind of out of Place in a pistolcase. He does not make bag molds.

Thank you all for Your suggestions.
Callahan sounds like a good option. Is there anyway I can email or fax him. Need to know the size of the bag mold(length, Width, thickness), to see if it will fit in the case. If it fits, I'd like to order one for a round ball 0.77 or 0.775, if he'll shipp to Norway.

I've been trying to get a hold of him for a week. I've orderd a bag mold, sent emails and tried to Call him several times. No Luck. Has anyone been in contact With him recently? Does he still take orders?
His answering service only says he is not available for the moment. It's not possible to leave a Message.

Best regards

Got Larry Callahan on the phone yesterday. He's been moving shop these last weeks. Great guy to talk to. His standard bag mold i 6" long and will fit nicely in the case. Orderd a Caliber 0.77. Paid him through Western Union web site. No problem. His delivery time on custom molds is 30 days. Plan to make the compartment for the mold in the front of the case.

Best regards
Rolf
