You will love it.  I have one, 38 inch, .50 cal.  It's my favorite deer rifle and shooting match rifle.  Mine is iron mounted, with double set triggers and I put a little carving on it.  The pictures are when it was almost finished.  The barrel, pins and other parts are much darker now.

I'll be the first to admit I have a lot to learn about longrifles. My interest has been with the Hawken up until now.

With that said. Is the Isaac Haines considered a Kentucky rifle?
