Lobed Horn

It’s been a bit too cold to do much work in my basement shop, so I finished up a horn instead. Color is aqua fortis, brown Rit dye, and some walnut stain. Strap is finger woven sisal. Base and spout plugs are figured walnut. Engraved with a map of the Battle of Kings Mountain and a join or die snake.

Now I have to decide on a bag to go with it.

Thanks for the kind words guys. Mr. Fiddler, that strap was my first stab at finger weaving...I don’t know that my eyes or hands would hold up to doing very many, but I will probably make up a few for trading stock. I also knocked together a quick little inkle loom yesterday. If it works out, I should be pretty self sufficient on straps and such.

Nice work, the scrimshaw on the horn is well done. I also like the strap, it looks great with the horn.
