I'm looking for some good views of cheek rest mouldings.
For example, I have some lines drawn on my cheek rest:
But I am not exactly sure how I want to do the modeling on there. From the photos I have (Rifles of Colonial America and others), I can't completely tell how the side profile of that area looks.
I
think I've seen some examples where my lower line would be gouged out in a more rounded / dished line but I can't quite tell.
Do you have some photos of your cheek rests at different angles that you can share?
By the way, this is an Isaac Haines rifle so 1770-1780 era Lancaster County rifle.
