Nosecap
« on: January 20, 2018, 04:56:31 PM »
In a recent thread Curtis showed his nose cap fabrication that was clear and well done.
I don't want't to take away from his thread so I thought I'd ask here; how is the barrel layout transferred to the nose cap for cutting?

Paint the inside of the nose cap with layout fluid (magic marker), put the cap back on the stock, scribe the front of the cap following the barrel inlet, remove cap and saw/file to the scribe line.

The method Greg mentioned is what I used on the cap pictured.
