I have started to make a Fowling rifle on scale.

A few weeks ago I ordered by Track and Wolff plans for rifles on full scale.
When the plans were delivered I unfold the plan of the Fowling on the floor.
I was amazed that the rifle was so big!!
I saw it in a museum but you cannot hold it than and I did not realize how big it was.
I have made the barrel on scale and now I am busy with the flintlock lock.
Everything on the lock is round, an I hope to succeed making it in the right way.
We will see!!

Yeah, AMAZING. Is that about half scale? or less?

Back in the workshop!
A long time it was too cold but I have started again.
It is good to see all the good work on ALR. I learn a lot only by watching.
I made a flintlock for a Fowling on scale.
My new challenge is to make two the same locks.
Can I use one lock for a pistol or is the lock for a pistol smaller?

The size of a pistol lock will vary depending on the style and size of the pistol, but in general, if the Fowler and the pistol are made on the same scale, the pistol lock would be smaller. For example, the lockplate of the Early Kentucky/American Fowler Flintlock from R.E. Davis measures 5-7/8" x 1-1/16", while the plate of their "Becky" Pistol Flintlock for a small pistol measures 4-3/16" x 13/16". http://www.redaviscompany.com/locks.html

Or you could make 2 of your fowler locks and use one on a pistol of about 60% scale. I can't wait to see it!
