I need some new metal files, and I知 thinking about Grobet USA. Does anyone have experience with these files? My understanding is that they are made in India, so I知 a little concerned about quality.
Any other brands that you'd recomend?
IF these "Grobet" files are made in India they may be good.
I bought some end mills from a company in NewYork and
they are from India and are some of the best I have ever used.
One is a 7/8 with 6 flutes I mill Hawken lock plates and others
with and I run it fast and so far it has held up to this abuse and
is still sharp. They have someone in Bombay or wherever that
knows how to grind these tools and are razor sharp like USA
made mills USED TO BE.
Another small end mill I use is a 5/64 2 flute double end for the
"V" cut the "fly" works in.I run it about 4000 RPM in a .075 deep
cut in 1144 Sressproof and finally broke one end. These tiny ones have
to be revved up and do not work well at low speeds.
