Ken...your rifles are so user friendly and just beg to be handled because of the finish and architecture.  Have one question though and I don't really know the answer and it concerns the comb height and angle and whether it is  comfortable to shoot, especially in a larger caliber.   Not being critical, just curious because sometime in the near future I'll be trying to build something similar....Fred

Not every rifle from the area had as pronounced comb as I have on my rifle.  You'll find a little of everything.   You can normally count of the comb line pointing above the breech end of the barrel but you even find exceptions to that.  Take a look at the links to a couple of library guns. 
I really haven't seen or experienced anything about this E. TN guns that is uncomfortable unless you forget and shoulder the deep cresent buttplate like you would a lancaster or something with a nice wide and flat buttplate.  I'll be the first to say that even is smaller cal. that can be painful.
