Some kind of bag, but it works for me

I say “some” kind of bag because I didn’t really follow any specific style, it’s just what turned out. I don’t have a horn for it yet but it matches my knife and sheath nicely I think. I still have to fasten an antler tine for the ring closure. I think it might be a little big at around 9”x10”. What can I say, it’s my first bag!

Looks a good serviceable bag, the only problem I see is the size of the bag. The bigger the bag the more you try to put in it  makes it hard to find what you want.

I like the cloth you picked. I think the bag (or haversack) will wear in nicely.

I suppose that would define it as a haversack. Perhaps a “southern poorboy” haversack, since it was made by me, a poor southerner!

my shooting bag is just shy of 5 wide and 7 deep...

It's a very nice looking bag, that's a fact.  Yes, a trifle large as all of mine are in the 6" - 7" + or - range.  Bottom line is that as long as it holds your shooting supplies with room for a couple of Snickers bars, it's okay.
