...Steve,... I'd been wanting this rifle for three years,.... "Old Traveler" more or less embarrassed me into buying her... Very nice chunk gun. Plain and made for one function. Don't have one but have been wanting to try it out. The York shoot sounds like a blast (no pun intended) and only 2 hours from home. I do some work 30 years ago for the cemetery at the Three Forks of the Wolf Church. Constant flow of traffic to visit Alvin's grave. Have that on my list to at least visit and watch the fun. Of course that will make me want to shoot the next time.

HaHaha ...corrected measurements .... LOP = 13 1/2" .... weight approx. 20 lbs ,..... centre of crescent of butt-plate is 2.5" deep,... long toe, Soddy style .... MATH,...tip of toe to 2.5"... centre of butt to front trigger 13.5" ....barrel 64" .... overall 80" or 6'8" ...

A chunk gun is usually too heavy to shoot offhand. It's designed to sight in on the target, laying down in the prone position and the shooter props the rifle over a log or a chunk of wood. Club chunk gun matches are very popular.

Others here can elaborate or adjust my description.
