Looking for info on this rifle and it's maker

I bought this .28 cal rifle at auction, has the name A-Klepfer on barrel, found a Ammon Klepfer  1827-1863 from Pennsylvania, that apprenticed under Joseph Shafer. Can't find much else. I can't find anything on smaller than .32 anywhere.

I had a 24 cal. NC rifle once upon a time. You don’t see many under 31, but they are out there.
