Earl and Bonnie Lanning
« on: May 23, 2009, 05:13:04 AM »
I am afraid I come bearing bad news tonight...

Bonnie Lanning, Earl's wife, passed away earlier tonight after a short hospital stay.  She and Earl were life long sweethearts.  She will be sorely missed.

Needless to say I've know her all my life and she has always been one of the most wonderful women that I've had to look up to in my life.  She was always the sweetest, kindest woman.  Oh, and boy what a cook!!  I only hope that I can be even half the wife and woman she was.

I know all of the Chambers family's thoughts and prayers are with Earl and the Lanning Family.  God Bless and comfort them all.

Wow, what a shock. I only met her a couple of times and, Barbie, your description of her is right on. Although I didn't have the pleasure of sampling her cooking.
My thoughts and prayers go out to Earl and his family.

This is not good news ......... I feel quite empty about this ..... wish I could reach out but there's nothing there ........things won't be the same .......

My wife , kids & I had the honor of hanging out at Earl & Bonnie's house for 2 nights in the middle of March and just had the best time in the world ..... What a good person she was ... so down to earth and real ....

My condolences to all and mostly my thoughts & prayers to Earl .... hang in there ol boy .... there's a better road up-ahead

I am shocked! I don't know what else to say. She was a wonderful person. I have had the pleasure to visit with Earl and Bonnie several times and they both have been just super. May God's presence be with all who mourn her death.

It's time's like this that you can't find the proper words to say.   They have been a part of this silly muzzleloading game
we all play for so long, I'm sure she will be sorely missed.  May God look down on you Earl as you work your way thru
these bad times, I know you will prevail.  You're in my thoughts and prayers.................Don

I don't know of a couple who were closer than Earl and Bonnie. What a dear wife she was.
May God bless you and give you His peace that passes all understanding, Earl . . . .

I only met Earl one time, but if Bonnie was as gracious as Earl, she must have been a wonderful person.

I'll keep Earl and the family in my prayers.

God bless,

My wife and I only met her once, thanks to the Chambers' but I remember her friendly way.  Any loss is sad and difficult, but especially so with someone so special.

Our prayers go out to Earl and all Bonnie's friends and relatives.

How sad the news!  My deepest condolences to you Earl!  I met the both of you in 1978 when I flew to N. Carolina to meet some of America's top gun makers.  I was royally hosted by the Lannings! Then in 2003 at the Three Centuries of Tradition show- Minneapolis Art Museum I was greeted very warmly by Bonnie and you Earl.  Bonnie will be missed by all who new her!  My prayers are with you,    Hugh Toenjes

Barbie,
Thanks for passing that on.  My sincerest sympathy to Earl and the family.  I only knew her in passing but my wife knew her from the shows.
She was a very special lady and will be missed by all.

I really don't know how I can add much to what has been said . My late wife and Bonnie were two of the finest and most gracious women it has been my honor and privilege to know. There was a bond betweeen them that was a joy to behold.

Our hobby and the world in which we live will be the poorer for their loss.
