Patents Pending
« on: June 22, 2018, 01:09:17 AM »
On Browning Mountain Rifles, the barrel is stamped "Patents Pending." For 40 years now I've always been curious what they were claiming to patent, considering black powder / muzzle loaders / the percussion system had already been around for a loooong time.

I think it had a lot to do with the breech design. If memory serves I think it was supposed to be silver brazed together, why if this was true they felt it an advantage I do not know.
