Some recent bags
« on: June 26, 2018, 04:03:42 AM »
Made of vegetable tanned horsehide. The belt is cowhide and the buckle is a tinned steel handmade by me. The buttons are by Ward Oles and copied off of originals.

Tim, thanks.  The buttons are functional and historical in keeping the flap down  but the cords actually close the body.

Thanks, for some reason I was thinking that the cords were game hanger.

Very cool!  My favorite is the dark colored one with the matching belt...just gorgeous!

Do you make those brass buttons, or are they commercially available?

The bags themselves are gorgeous, and very well made.

Thanks, the buttons were hand made by Ward Oles.
A buddy helped me out of a bind as I was out of them and needed a few more until my current order arrived ; )

More fine art masquerading as leather bags.  :-)  Up to your usual excellent standards sir.  I like the contrast of the pale stitching on the dark bags.  I know that pale caramel color has to be a beast to create though.  Thank you for sharing.  And yes, I did catch the tiny fine tooling on the belt keeper.  Nice.  God Bless,   Marc

Thanks Marc. Unfortunately there is no art in my veins ; )
You're right about the lighter color. Takes some patience.

Nice bags James. Did you use vegetable tan leather to make them with?

Brian, Thanks and yes, all components are vegetable tanned. The buckle is one of my manufacture in tinned steel.

Those bags are very nice.

Your shop is too clean, you need more to do and less time to do it in.

Perhaps I will clean on my shop more this week.

Thanks guys. Yes I try to keep my leather shop fairly clean. I give it a go over after each project. It just took me three days over the weekend to get my gun shop in enough order to put some barrels in wood though  : )
