GREAT Job Jim! I love it, can't get enough of it, look forward to the next. Thanks for taking the time to do this. Well done to your cameraman ;) too, knows what to shoot and how to get it centered.

Absolutely fascinating! Thanks for taking the time to do this.
I'll probably not get the chance to build another rifle but would follow your great instructions.
Keep up the good work.

Thank you everyone.  I'm happy you find it useful.

Besides being instructional, one aspect I like about the videos is how they show, in pretty much real time, how easily these kits can be assembled.  Not to mention how high of quality and how well designed every aspect is.  This is a very difficult combination to acheive and came about from more work than most would imagine.

These really are a giant step forward in the traditional muzzleloading industry.  Not everyone is aware of the huge difference between our products and some of the otherse avaible and these help demonstrate this.  I'm always a bit aprehensive to promote our products and prefer to let them speak for themselves, but we've invested so much, it seems justifiable.

Looking forward, we are giong to spend some time making our current kits even better than they currently (there's always room to improve) and then we'll be off to new projects!  We have a vision in mind for our company and won't rest until we get there.  This may sound a bit trite, but those who know me realize it's true ;)

Thanks everyone for the support.

We'll be posting part 3 of the series later today.

All the best,
Jim

Though I am waiting on my kit, I sat and watched both videos last nite until near midnite.  If there were more I might not yet be to bed.
These are very interesting and will be very helpful.
Thanks for posting.  You are going far above what one would expect when purchasing something like this.  I can say that from experience after dealing with a cpl other kit sellers.
Thanks so much

Really well done videos Jim. I watched both and have bookmarked them to refer to when my kit arrives. Not only are the explanations clear and the subject well videoed and easy to see, your pride in your product and confidence in your own abilities comes through. I like that :)

Jim; Can I assume your camera operator is Katherine? If so she is doing a fantastic job videoing your assembly of the Colonel rifle. I did a great deal of film and video production back in the day, and any producer would just die for a camera operator as good as she is. The whole presentation in one take! That is beyond remarkable. Even with the basic tools you are using to produce your instructional videos you have quite acceptable production values with the camera and lighting, and of course that whizbang camera operator anticipating your every move makes all the difference. A clip on microphone would be a good addition.

Now I have to run out to the shop and make one of those hand-held frizzen spring removal gizmo's. Handy looking item.

Jim,

Fantastic kit and wonderful video.  I also tap the lock plate and trigger plate through the stock to keep alignment but lubricating the tap helps me a great deal.  I never use oil as it can soak into the wood but I have had great luck with a lubricant invented by Boeing Aircraft.  It's called "Boelube" and it comes in three forms...a liquid, a paste, and a solid.

Several machine tool supply houses carry it as well.

I use the solid stick form for both drilling and taping through the wood.  It liquifies at the point of contact between the tool and the workpiece but won't get all over anything else.  Makes drilling and taping much easier, quicker, and the cutting edges of the drills and taps last much longer.

Thanks everybody for the kind words.  Sure do appreciate it!

As to the camera operator, it is our new employee Macen.  We passed on your nice comments to him.  He must be some sort of a natural because he said he’d never done any work like this before.  He’s only 17 years old, but a really smart and capable worker that we’re happy to have.  I’ll see if I can introduce him in an upcoming video.

If anyone has any questions just ask.  I enjoy the conversation and helping if I can.

All the best,
Jim
