I made a "how to build a gun" video. It is a bit different than the videos that Mr Kibler recently posted. Those show an expert building a well designed kit. It goes fast and there are no problems. Makes it look easy. I don't have nearly the experience that Mr Kibler has and I used a pre-carve stock that caused a few small problems. I explain what I am doing and why for every step. So while I may not be an expert, I hope that some people might learn something. I please feel free to yell at me in the places where I screwed up. Criticism is always welcome. I think the greatest value in a video like this is that it shows someone thinking of doing this for the first time what they are getting themselves into.

The gun is finished and turned out great. I am happy with it. I broke up the video into 23 parts. I got two of them posted so far and I figure I will post another two every week. It has every step along the way on video. I am hoping that some of you guys that have been doing this forever will be kind enough to offer suggestions along the way on things that I should have done differently.

I hope that this will be of use to some people here. I had fun doing it. At least until it came time to figure out how to work the video editing program. Yikes!!!

I'll be watching your videos on this build.  I'm building a 28 gauge for one of my sons.  Looking forward to your next videos.

Say, any of you boys smithies? Or, if not smithies per se, were you otherwise trained in the metallurgic arts before straitened circumstances forced you into a life of aimless wanderin'?

I already do. Track of the Wolf catalog says to use 7/8 inch flints with it. It seems to spark better with the 3/4 inch flints.
