« on: August 22, 2018, 05:12:37 AM »
The Montana Historical Gunmaker's Guild held it's annual gunmaker's fair August 10th-12th in Bozeman, MT. Here are some photos...

A discussion of 1970's gunmakers by Dan Phariss and Randy Cochran.

Class-Inletting a plate into a barrel by Ryan Roberts (MBS). He also taught a class on inletting wire into a barrel.

Class-A students finished work from both inletting classes. This is Justin's barrel stub. He already posted photos.

David Rase demonstrating how to charcoal blue a barrel using a device wrapped in high-temp heat tape.

A wire inlay class (John Bivins method).

A wire inlay class (Wallace Gusler method).

A wire inlay design being worked on.

There aren't. We had to import Canadians, as well as folks from Washington, Idaho and Kentucky to get that many people in one place.

I'll see if I can get Bob to update his post with some names and a little explanatory text.

That's Dave Rase charcoal bluing a barrel. Here's a recent link that shows the process http://americanlongrifles.org/forum/index.php?topic=49979.0
