That is a really nice pistol!  I presume that the broken pistol stock is going to be rebuilt to look like the finished pistol, in which case you are going to have a splendid addition to your collection.

This is the first time I have seen this type of safety, which looks easy to operate and to build.  I wouldn't mind having that type of safety on one of my firearms.

Good luck with your project, and do keep us posted on progress!

Runar must have the patience of a wooden Indian and the skill of a brain surgeon to
take this on.

Runar, at 17.1 mm cal (approx. .67/.68" cal), you are going to have a huge chunk of lead moving. Be sure to use both hands when firing!

I believe that this is going to be a beautiful replica when you are done - you have a great eye for detail in all your work.

Runar, your work constantly amazes me!  You are very precise, very thorough.
Love that big lathe! Lots of wheels, levers. gears, etc.  Do I remember you saying it is 1.5 tons?  And how long have you been using it?  You seem to be a very accomplished machinist - and I like all the projects that you tackle.  Thanks for showing us all the progress.

Pretty darn good job with the files - you've made it have the same graceful style as the original!  I like doing that sort of filing, gives you a great feeling, especially when it comes out so well!
R, are you about 5 hours ahead of us on the clock?  We are GMT +4 here, well, +5 during the summer.  USed to work with a nice Norwegian girl, great engineer (PE)!  But never thought of asking her the time difference.
