Shooting my Isaac Haines rifle

It's been a while since I finished this rifle and posted on here but I had it out this weekend so I figured I would share the shooting video.

This is a .54 caliber kit from Jim Chambers and I was using 60 grains FFFg in the barrel and FFFFg in the pan. I'm using .530" balls with 0.020 patches. I was shooting at 100 yards which was further than I wanted to shoot for sighting but I got the windage pretty good as I finished with a 3 shot group about the size of a paper plate. Seems reasonable given that 100 yards looks like an awful long distance with open sights.

When I finished this, I was worried that my touch hole was a bit too high but it seems like it fires pretty well as it is.

Yep, that's the one I got from Chambers. I think it's a 1/4 inch version...

I figured as much. It has fast ignition.

That is pretty fast ignition. Did you drill out the original hole in the WL liner? The touch hole should be in line with the top of the pan. My opinion. But it works well a little higher also because the fire from the pan goes up and out.
60 grains 3fg is very accurate in my .54 also though I hunt with higher charges. If you can keep all your shots on a paper plate at 100 yards your getting real close to deer accuracy.
Nowadays I try keep my shots under 75 yards if possible due to older eyes. I do my shooting with the .54 at 50 yards.

No, I did not modify the white lightning liner at all.

And thanks for your sharp eye on the powder can cap haha. It was actually not very close but still. I thought I had it on but it pays to be more attentive lol.
