I think your sanity is showing.....  That is a darn good idea!  Even the VA hospital in Columbus has those bags by the door.
And, my VA Shrink told me just yesterday that I no longer have to visit with her - certified SANE!

I'll have to find a store so fancy. Maybe the big city has some.  :P

I do save the weather bags UPS and USPS put boxes in if rain is threatening. Those are instant ponchos with a few mods.  I re-use vegetable bags for my home-made bread and for the pressing of tortillas.

Re-purposing is a thing here.   8)

I almost always carry a couple of 1 gal and 2 gal freezer bags when I go hunting. They can keep my lock dry if I forget my cows knee, keep my camera and cell phone and hearing aids dry in a pinch and also gives me something to put extra lard/fat into for the trip out just to name a few.

The umbrella bags are a great idea that I will copy as soon as I can snag a few. Thanks. I made a similar gun bag out of Naugahyde remenants in my younger days. Inspired by John Wayne in “The Searchers”, the scene where he takes his 92 Carbine out out his gun case bag. Don’t know what happened to it. Protected my firearms while caught in the rain.

Our current car is upholstered in naugahide or maybe dog hide,not sure which
but it still looks good.As far as sanity is concerned, I left the sane world years ago
when I bought my first muzzle loader in 1951 and have not rejoined it. It's dull
out there in "their" world.
