WOW!  49 days.  I better get busy on a rifle or two...  Can't wait to see everyone and all the great "stuff".  I feel like a kid before Christmas....

By the end of July I should have completed a work related move from southeast PA to northern Virginia, which means what used to be a 1 1/2 hour each way day trip will now be about four hours each way.

Looks like I will be joining the "sleep over" crowd. So, where are the good places to stay, and how soon do you need to make reservations?

Dale, they have the usual popular national hotel/motel chains in Allentown. Rates I can't help ya with though. There're campgrounds close to the fair, which my wallet allows me to stay at. I have ruined one tent by putting it away damp one year, so the weather is a big factor for me. I think Dixons web site lists accommodations. If your interested in a campground, the one I've been using is Robin Hill Campground. They have the usual sites, tenting sites, trailer sites, they even have cabins, but don't know anything about them. Some tent sites have electric, maybe cable. If you go on line for "Robin Hill Campground" it should access the campground.   ...Geo.

The Hampton Inn and the Comfort Inn in Allentown are 2 of the more popular places to lodge.  Most of the crowd I socialize with stay in the Hampton.  I think the Hampton is slightly more then the Comfort Inn.
I have my plane ticket, my motel and my room mates.  Pretty much locked and loaded.  If I am not loaded, can you say Yingling?  Just counting the days down like the rest of you.  Lets see if we can make it 3 years in a row with a mid Sunday monsoon.   ;D

I'm planning to make it Friday and Sunday. Have to work a wedding in there on Saturday. Why would anyone get married on "Dixon Weekend"? Taking my 12 year old nephew along on Friday. I think he will enjoy it.

By the way, Ed, I am going to be a neighbor of yours. The house we are buying is on rt 234 (Dumfries Road), maybe a mile west of I-95.

I'll be there this year after an 10 hour drive Friday. I usually camp at Blue Rocks but maybe I'll give Robin Hill a try. Seems most guys camping camp at Robin Hill. Cost savings from camping allow me to bring more cool stuff home from the fair.

Dale,

That's great!  I know exactly where you're talking about.  That's only about a half hour from our place.  Let me know once you're settled in.  It'll be nice having someone close by I can commiserate with regarding Longrifles!

Dixon's sure sounds like a great event.  Good place to learn or purchase goods.  I wish it was closer to TN.

Closer to TN, try WA.  I am so far away that they are making me stay with Canadians.

I am staying at the "sister" hotel.  She lives about 15 min from Dixons.  And they say sisters are not good for anything......hahah!
