The life of an apprentice.

Checking out my apprentice's skills this morning.  We are working on inletting a barrel for Mike Brooks.

Between his dad being an avid hunter and him hanging out in the shop with me he is off to a good start.  He has already caught his first fish.

Ahh - .38 - now that's an interesting calibre.
Balls are no problem as there are lots of .375" RB moulds available, as well as swaged ones made for the .36 Navy & other revolvers.

That was what I was after, using the Colt's Navy revolver ball. Hoyt reamed it a bit more so I could use a ,.020 patch. I think the actual caliber is officially 38 1/2, but that's just too silly to say. ;D

Round it off on the large end Mike.....39 cal.  That'll make guys scratch their heads.

Ed Rayl cut my .25 cal barrel .255" or 25 1/2.  I'll call it a .26 cal just to get the same reaction.
