First pistol

Hi all!

Attached are picture of my first pistol (second build) for your critique. Didn’t follow any particular style, the front sight has since been lopped Down and lock browned. I’ll label it as “functional and able to compete at rendezvous”, next build I promise to follow more of a plan!

Other than the thumb inlay looking odd I think it came out well ;). Is that from a kit? -- Bare feet in the shop is asking for trouble ;D.

Thanks! First attempt at any inlay, it was a 1963 quarter, think it should have been a little more oval? I figure if I ever learn to engrave or see the House brothers again I’m sure they’d nick it up for me.

Basically was a mismatch of parts, wood and the Oregon barrel we’re a Valentine’s Day gift from the wife. Sights are actually rifle sights I severely worked down and reshaped, pipes/side plate made from some scrap steel

I’ve started wearing Sandals at least 😬

Cool pistol!  The thumb inlay looks fine to my eye, though the fasteners could have been a little more discreet.  And the lock would have looked fine polished bright too.  For a second build....nice job.
