What is this?

I know it has Lehigh architecture but it is also missing some. I saw rifles like these at some shows and they appeal to me but I’m not sure what it is. It doesn’t look like the traditional Lehigh makers rifle. The rounded lock and panels look different.

I don't know, but it looks like a swell project for new grandchild. BTW--girl or boy? Best regards, Dave

Dave,
It's a little boy. We are heading up there Sunday to spend some time with him.

Looks Lehigh to me. I’ve seen late Lehigh’s with round tailed locks, and matching moldings. In fact I have an antique Lehigh with a very slight tail on the plate, and a nearly round molding. I think it looks very late flint Lehigh.

Later period Lehigh rifle styled after Stophel Long. I think this is like 1820’s/1830’s

That is a Stoffel Long rifle.
Here's one I finished a short time ago.
