Leman I just finished up
« on: April 15, 2019, 07:33:20 PM »
Here's my latest build to show you guys.  I was super happy how the stock took the stain and finish. I decided to do all iron on this gun. It's my first attempt at a Leman, and I think it turned out okay. I thought the patchbox was pretty interesting how the spring is set up. As always I welcome constructive criticism to get better and better. Thanks, Justin.

Very nice, Justin - you will, of course have it at Hefley Creek this year?
A nice stain and finish on the rod would be very nice as well.

Nice lines. The only thing I’m wondering about is the patchbox placement - seems more forward than usual?

I may have it at Heffley if it isn't sold by then.  I thought having the patchbox forward like that was odd too, but the pictures I saw, and the plans I got from TOW have the box forward like that.

It could be a bit more forward than I intended

You did a great job on that build, Justin.  That's a very good looking rifle.

As you can see Leman didn't always put the wilted lily patch boxes in the same location. Yours looks just fine to me.

Very nice build. Perhaps the forward patchbox was intentional so there would be more wood behind the inlet. From the pictures it looks as if the hole of the patchbox is behind the back part of the cheek rest. I like the rifle.

I think the stock looks great.

Not all lemans were built the same. Even thought they came from the same factory. I like what you have done. Very nice work!!
