This is our first "ID'd"

This is a most unusal gun in that it has a non identified maker with a very unusal patchbox finial. The gun form is that of Upper Susquehanna School.
The box ID , David R. Porter, is most probably the owner.

Porter was Governor of Pennsylvania from 1839-45 and is best known for his solutions to the financial crisis in PA at that time. This had something to do with shipment of iron and the develop of a canal system rather than overland transportation of iron ore . He was an "Iron Baron" but both won and lost in those endeavors.

Any additional history would be appreciated!

Ties to the PA Rittenhouse family, if known by you geneologist, would be appreciated

Identifying the maker is a real challenge. All guesses are encouraged and anyone with a similar come please come forth!!!!!!!!!!
