Thin wrist bucks county

Doing a post on a Bishop, remington in the Antique section and wanted to post a few pictures of a bucks county my father did in the mid 70's..... excuse the pictures its a dark rainy day in the U.P.

You should be proud to have a father with such skills in the 70's. It's a very nice gun and I appreciate the photos. Do you know if he had a pattern to follow or just going by a photo out of a book?

Very nice workmanship from what I can see.  I really like the trigger.  What caliber is it?  Thanks for sharing.

Looks to me to be patterned from the last Bucks in the RCA book, an unknown maker.  And a few minor changes, like the tip of the buttplate addition over the comb & the carvings on the rifle. Nicely done........

I like the wooden patchbox better than a bottom hinged one.

That is a Very nice rifle...........   ;)

Nice. Wish I had the ability to make something like this! All I can do is tangle up crowbars and break anvils :o

Do you know what kind of wood the stock is made from? At first I figured curley maple, but the more I look at it????

Well Sir, your father had a great talent. I really like the trigger and the butt plate as well. Thanks for sharing the pictures, I know she's a special treasure.
