Nice rifle indeed!I can not see it clearly by the picture....Is the upper sideplate of the left side patchbox narrower than the other or itis kind of "overlapped" by the cheekpiece, i.e. inlet in the wood somehow?

The upper side plate is bent into an angle & is tight up against the cheekpiece. Yes narrower. Not inlet under it.

I base that on the incised line running pharrell to the box and in places the box seems to actually cover the line.Dennis
