Lock by Logan & Kennedy, but who made the rifle?
« on: August 11, 2019, 11:58:29 AM »
I have this nice little half-stock. Since there is no visible signature, I do not know who made it.
Any ideas?
Overall length: 50,5"
Barrel length: 34"
cal: .32

Chris,
Is that pup a "Dachl"? Logan and Kennedy sounds more like a hardware store than
a lock maker to me.

Bob, please pardon my ignorance, but what is a "Dachl"?
And yes, I guess I read somewhere they were hardware dealers, but have to check on that information again.

You surely mean Paule, my Dachshund, what we call a Dackel or Teckel?

Logan and Kennedy were in Pittsburgh. A hardware dealer

Wow, what a nice half stock.  Perfect lines and proportions. I thought it was much larger until I read your dimensions.  Patchbox really trips my trigger.  Interesting wire inlay on the cheekpiece.  That's a new one on me.  Has the lock plate been soldered or brazed?

Elisha Pancoast would be my guess on maker or someone associated with him.
