Made a “Curtiss” keyhole saw

I think Curtiss inspired this one for slots for barrel keys or wedges.

Easy to make and cuts great. No set to the teeth.

Hi Rich,
I make a similar saw from broken fret saw blades and an X-acto knife handle.  It cuts on the pull stroke. I also used the thin chisel made from a needle file. After cutting away the wood between my initial string of drilled holes, the little chisel cleans up the slot using the sharp blade and the file sides.

Great job on the tool Rich!  It is amazing how well they work for making the key holes in a stock.  A point in the tool may help a bit, as well as a chisel companion like Dave suggested.  I made my chisel and saw like this, patterned after 18th century tools:



The chisel in the pic is basically a mortising chisel and can be used for triggers and things as well.
