My Scott Summerville knives
« on: August 28, 2019, 09:49:04 PM »
Just wanted to share a couple knives I ordered from scott. He is great to deal with. The antler handled knife I had made a few years ago. 5" blade and he made it to my specs that I drew up for him. I wanted a larger antler handle then is usual with antler knives. I just received the French trade knife yesterday and it did not disappoint.  7" blade, it's a real beauty and balances perfect.

I have one of his antler handled knives.  The blade is the classic skinny triangle shape. Maybe 5 inches?
It takes a razor sharp edge and stays that way for a long, long time.  One of the finest knives I've ever owned.

My next purchase from him will be a straight razor for shaving.

What is the handle on the French trade knife made out of?

it is made out of some type of bone. It looks really good. The knife also tapers in the thickness to the back of handle. It took him only 1 week from the time I told him what I wanted till it arrived at my house. He sent me email pics along the way of him making it. Really high quality knives for sure. 1095 steel. I will be ordering a folder sometime in the near future.

I commissioned this folder a few years ago. i couldn't believe how fast he finished the knife and delivered it to. Dead-on copy of folders found all over the colonies and in Europe. I went with an antler handle.
