I have a Tip Curtis built rifle with a straight .32 caliber Green Mountain Barrel, 3/4" across the flats, and 36" long. It's already pretty decently light and handy, but I've gotten to thinking that it would be even lighter and handier, as well as more versatile, if it had a bigger bore.
-How big a bore can a 3/4" safely handle? Probably .40, right? Is .45 too big?
-Who can you recommend who does this service? Any ideas how much to expect to pay?
-What am I likely to be sacrificing or gaining by having this done?
Thanks!
