Jewelers saw blades and screws
« on: September 22, 2019, 04:43:36 AM »
I bought over a hundred saw blades years ago and I'm about out and I forgot where I got them. So who sells the best jewelers saw blade's now ? And how many teeth per inch ? I use them cutting out inlays and patch box's, brass and steel. And I'm about out of oval head wood screws for patch box's and what ever. Where's the best place to buy a box of screws ?  Thanks for the help.     Al

I get blades from Rio Grande jewelry supply. Try to get 2 to 3 teeth per the thickness of the material you are cutting. I use the 2/0 blades I think, I will check tomorrow.

I'm with Bama on this one.  Rio Grande's laser gold are tops.  I cut a LOT of steel with their 2/0 blades - nice line right down the middle of a Sharpie fine line.  Brass is easier cut with a #3, as is hardwood like maple.

You can get Pike sawblades off Amazon. Pike has been a reputable quality blade so it should serve fine.

I am a retired jeweler/watchmaker.

Don't buy cheap blades, they will not cut straight no matter what you do. Buy Laser Blades from Rio Grande.
