Anyone know anything about a maker named Medbery, first name (maybe) Thomas, from New York?  If so, any chance of any pictures of his rifles?

Thanks,
Bill

There was an Isaac Medbury in Erieville NY and his son Joseph, active in the 1820s-1840s. Someone years ago mentioned
a rifle with "I.Medbery Rochester" stamped on the top barrel flat.

All the best
Paul

Vol. 3 of the New York State Firearms Trade books (Swinney/Rowe) cites a Thomas Medbery, New Berlin, ca. 1795-1818; Erieville, 1818-1828; ?Jefferson Co., late 1820's; Canton, 1830. (b.June 16, 1774; d. 1834(?). One of his rifles is illustrated along with further biographical information.  His nephew, Joseph Medbery(Jr.) is also listed along with several examples of his firearms.
   Hope this is of help.

Thanks for the info, but at $450.00 for the book it's a little more than I can afford. Any pictures any where else more affordable?

Thanks again,
Bill
