Simple Bag for a simple hunter
« on: October 05, 2019, 05:09:36 AM »
First bag I have done in a while...
Simple bag made from 6 ounce oak tanned leather that measures about 8" x 9". Hand stitched with waxed linen thread with a gusset and welted seams. Treated inside and out with a generous coating of bear grease that I rendered. Inside pocket is sewn in the middle to form two. Rings and buckle are hand-forged by Ben Hoffman, as well as the knife. The pick and brush are the work of David Crisalli.

Still need to attach the accouterments, do a strap for the horn and then head for the woods!

Very nicely done!

I like the entire combo. The bag, horn, and knife all go together well!

Doug

The"Muskrat" would be proud to wear this kit into the woods. Just shows that "fancy" isn't everything.

That set would fit right in here in the hills of TN. Nice.

I posted the entire finished tribute set in the 'Over the Back Fence' forum since it covered more than one category.
It can be seen here - http://americanlongrifles.org/forum/index.php?topic=56304.0

That's a very good looking getup! If I could build one for myself, I could only hope it would turn out exactly like that. For what I do, that would be perfect.

Nice clean lines. Reminds me of a bag Madison Grant had a photo of, I believe he made it.

That is a fine looking bag.  I like everything about it.

Looks great.  That's not a simple bag by any means.  It resembles the TN bag in "Kentucky Rifles of the Great Smoky Mountains" by Randal Pierce.
