I have not had the best of luck with wetting the back of the WD paper and have it stay in one place. I prefer using Scotch Spray Mount Repositionable Adhesive. Spray the adhesive onto the back of the WD paper (be sure to use newspapers to catch overspray!), place them on both sides of a heavy glass plate (400 and 600 on one side and 1000 and 2000 on the other). Then for stropping, I use the cardboard backings of notebooks with white rouge rubbed all over the surface. The stropping done after each time carving will be all that is needed for a long while before the need to use the WD paper.
