Relative to the post by UpLandFarm concerning the Germanic Musket, there is a great book, Of Sorts For Provincials American Weapons of the French and Indian War by Jim Mullens, published by Track of the Wolf in 2008. It is an excellent book covering arms sent here by the Brits for the Colonial Militia.

Say, any of you boys smithies? Or, if not smithies per se, were you otherwise trained in the metallurgic arts before straitened circumstances forced you into a life of aimless wanderin'?

The photography in that book is superb. Would that the photos in my book looked as good. Nearly 20" long full length views of the muskets.

The famous "Faber / Huber" rifle, which was the subject of some posts earlier in the year in this Forum, is on pages 81-84.

In a pile of old Rifleman magazines and old RIA catalogs. All of that stuff is out in the trash barrel now.....I call it 'down sizing"...
