Spoon by Robert Hill

This is a hand carved spoon by Robert Hill V, the grandson of Bob Hill. Robert was assisting Bob this weekend at the Fair where Bob demonstrates longrifle building (Bob's 24th year). I watched Robert sit down and proceed to carve out this beautiful horn from a block of wood. It connects us to the traditional crafts, and is a fine living history piece. The end of the handle is delightfully porcine. Robert is quite adept at many crafts, and is currently producing another engraved horn. As my wife says of the 17 year old Robert, "He's an old soul". I hope you enjoy the photos. God Bless, Marc
