Knife & Sheath!!

[La Longue Carabine]

I picked up this knife at a local Flea Market. I'am not sure of any history behind it, but it looks very old. The handle is made of 2 slab sections of hickory and threaded through with the 2 flatheaded screws which held them in place. Also this handle wasn't fitted properly to the knife, so i reworked it and had to sand it bit, which meant i had to stain/dye the handle and as usual, it came out a little darker than i wanted it to... I have no idea what kind of metal the blade is, but its rock hard and sharp as the devil. Well anyway, the knife needed a sheath. So i took some scrap leather i had laying around and this is what i came up with. Please let me know what ya think and if could have done anything better...

  A very nice looking outfit. I especially like the knife,  but the sheath is very western and 19th c. in design and decoration. depends on the time period you want to portray.
