TC, first off, thanks for doing this build along. There's always some new nugget in your posts.

You mentioned water based dye and I'm curious as to what exactly you use.  I find the  cost of the Fiebings to be a bit prohibitive and not as consistent as I'd like.   Black is simple using vinegaroon at a cost of about 75 cents per quart but black isn't always the desired color.
