Alabama - Kentucky Rifle Show
« on: December 21, 2019, 07:04:10 PM »
Good morning everyone

This is an update on the show. The show will be held at Joe Wheeler Park as usual, there are no problems at the Lodge, Conference Center or hotel rooms. The park campgrounds were hit by the storm but fortunately the Lodge and Hotel did not suffer any damages.

Please help me spread the word that the show will not be affected and will go on as usual.

I have had several people call and email about if the show is still on and the answer to that question is "YES".

Thanks a bunch, Jim Parker

What a great photograph!!! But for the color it could have been taken a 125 years ago. And that is a mighty fine rifle.

By golly! You're right! Looks just grand. My grandad used to dress same way back on the farm in Southern Illinois, Franklin County to be exact. By the time I came along, all the old guns had been disposed of, one silver mounted rifle being taken to the dump. My family on my mother's side were Kentuckians and Tennesseans and I expect that they had southern guns. Thank you again.

Black and white makes it look authentic.
The shooters in the old pictures would have had a white shirt and necktie under their best Sunday bibs.   ;D

I was just wondering about the dates; will people be set up tomorrow and taking down Saturday?

I have been on the morning of the first day first day in the past and almost nobody was set up, went back on Sunday about noon and everyone was gone for the most part.

This year with Thursday, Friday and Saturday, when will people be setting up and taking down. I have been spreading the word locally, last year some of the folk I directed got there at the wrong time of the scheduled days and missed the complete show and just saw a few folk set up.

Eric show dates are Friday and Saturday. Show ends Sat at 2:00 pm. Some people with a ways to travel may pack up a little early on Sat. Set up is Thursday. Many vendors set up Thursay but some arrive during Thursday night and set up early Friday before the show. The best time to see the show is Friday or Saturday morning before lunch. Hope this helps.

It appears that Jim has been busy and has gotten some great advertising and publicity out on the show in the shoals area this appeared in the local paper.

I just got back, what is your complete name Tim? The reason I don't like handles is they don't transfer well off the net. There were several people I wanted to visit with last year but didn't know their name, only their internet handle.

I missed you, I was the one walking around the annex with the stunning birds eye stocked rifle. I talked to the guy with all the Kibler rifles for a long time as well as the first guy on the right.
