Shear knife
« on: April 12, 2020, 07:44:15 PM »
Shear knife (not my idea) I had seen one of these made up some years back and have some old shears hanging in the shop for quite some time now. So I thought it was time to make some up sense we are house bound. I attached the antler with 1/4" brass pins and peened them down. I'm not the best leather worker but did get a fitted sheath made up for it. The hard part was finding antler straight enough to fit the handle on.

I have a sheep shear knife made by a dear departed friend many years ago. It probably holds the best edge of any I own.

That's a very fine example right there!

Neat idea...now as soon as I can go flea marketing again, maybe I can find me a pair of shears.

Very slick idea.  I like it a lot!  You have just helped increase the sales of vintage sheep sheers.
