Happy New Year all!

I killed this buck on December 7th. I'd seen him on November 8th while hunting with traditional archery gear.  He didn't offer a sure shot that day.

I was using my 45 caliber flinter, built in a SMR way.

Shot at 40-50 yards, he made it about 100 yards.

Good luck to all here still hunting.  I wish you safety and success!!

All the best, Skychief.

Nice buck, congratulations. That is one advantage of being a bow hunter, get out and see what's going on before gun season starts.

This guy has been holding out on us. He probably ate the back straps two weeks ago. ;D

Skychief,

Congratulations! Outstanding buck!

On a slightly philosophical note, I have come to admire and love this way, or path, of traditional long rifles and hunting. Thanks for sharing your success.

Respectfully,

Paul

Out west we call that a "Hooter". Nice job, and a darn fine trophy.
