First PA FL deer
« on: January 03, 2020, 05:28:28 AM »
HAd the pleasure of taking my Grandson out the last few days.  He shot his first flintlock deer this evening off hand at about 50 yds.  He is a good shot but the flintlock was a new experience for him.

Outstanding! Great experience you can both be proud!

Much goodness here - your time together, his first with a flintlock, the harvest.

Congrats to you both,
Paul

Good on you Bigmon for showing him the ropes!  I sure wish more young guys would be as interested in hunting as most of us here probably were, in our youth.

Life lessons can be learned with each outing.

Tell him congratulations please!!

Best regards, Skychief.

And he will remember the hunt, the deer and the great shot he made; he'll remember it forever.  Way to go!

I'm just glad to see the young man wants to hunt, our crew that hunts together are all getting up in years. We all have grandchildren but can't get them interested. you are lucky in more ways than one.

Outstanding for you and your grandson Bigmon. Nice deer , great shot, nice rifle, doesn't get much better than that. I've been hunting with my two daughters this Pa flintlock season, and two of my sons,  priceless.       Steve

Speaking for many grandfathers, THANK YOU for taking your grandson hunting & introducing him to blackpowder with flintlock rifles.  Congratulations to the young man on his shooting and success. I would bet a lot of money that he'll remember that evening a LOT longer than if he had been sitting on his bed thumbing thru his "pad" or "tablet".

That's awesome! And glad to see fellow PA hunters out with the rocklocks!

I love all our hunting opportunities, but the flint season is a special time of year, for sure. Glad you've been able to pass on the tradition!
