High dollar thimble holding jig.

Came up with this beauty to hold thimbles for filing/sanding. Saw it in quarters about 1 3/4" down, add a bit of duct tape to keep it from splitting, and voila! Put your thimble on, tighten the screw, and you have an easy way to hold it, and costs a nickel.

Seems like Southern ingenuity to me. Have you done your genealogy? Do you find yourself listening to Merle Haggard and don’t know why?

I've been using that method for years, but I use a little wedge, made from scrap of course, instead of a screw.
