Boy These are Fun to Shoot !!!
« on: January 13, 2020, 12:23:08 AM »
Back in January of 2018, I finished a blunderbuss commission for a fellow.  I got so busy with work, etc., that I never checked back in with him to find out if he had ever had a chance to fire it. I was returning from a church service this morning and I received a text from him with this picture attached.......

He also sent a short video of his son firing it.  It is such a good picture I thought some of you might enjoy it..... ;)

Here is the link about the gun build itself...            https://americanlongrifles.org/forum/index.php?topic=38909.0

I was all set to have a Blunderbuss made a while back but had poor luck finding a barrel.

That's the sort of bbl you order and wait until it's done.  Not usually an "inventory" item for the bbl makers I'm familiar with-they all pretty well work to order and orders take time. And not a lot floating around on the second-hand or NOS market.

Great pic Dave, thanks for sharing.

Makes the FLBB look like a multi-purpose tool, launches projectiles, lights up any flammables, and provides a magician's puff of smoke for disappearing tricks.  ;D

Looks like a hoot and a real public range attention grabber.

Sure to be a wicked stopper in a close-up personal defense scenario.

From my readings, and blunderbuss was essentially meant as a niche close range defensive weapon. It served the same role as today would a Mossberg.

Now that just looks like a lot of fun to play with. I was sitting in a hunting stand the other night with a bunch of hogs in front of me and one of those loaded with OO buck might have been just the ticket for them.
