Touch Hole Pick and Whisk Set

Another set.  Slightly different shape ebony handles.  The pick works great for a sewing awl as well.  Hardened steel point with a screw on brass scabbard......

With all my Po-boys, if I carried those things, it’d look like I stole em. My ancestors would’ve been hung if they were caught with those in their pockets. I need to get me a fancy Brooksie soon so I can buy some of those. Super stuff.

Outstanding! Your ability to maintain the consistency and matching the same dimensions of each turning is impressive to say the least!

Are there special precautions needed when turning or sanding ebony wood?

Not that I am aware of.  I turn and sand a fair amount of ebony and have not had any issues with it.  It is so hard, it machines beautifully.....not quite as well as Lignum Vitae, but darn close.  Ron Scott sent me some scraps of Lignum Vitae several years ago now.  Here is a set I made out of the scraps.....The grain was so nice I didn't want to flute them.

I have some really fine and fancy rifles.  They would look like tire irons if those were hanging on my bag. Perfect absolutely perfect.
