The thickness of the lock plate will prevent any powder from getting into the lock mortise.
If you enlarge the picture, this and the actual placement of the vent is easily observed.
Is it right? No, but is not a problem safety wise.

The end of the screwdriver slot is below the side flat on the barrel. Nothing on the lockplate will prevent priming powder from going behind the lock. It's not safe to shoot,that's why they gave him a full refund.
