Thank you Tilefish and OldMtnMan. That's good to know since that is one I had considered. I'd be willing to go up around $1000 in order to get a quality rifle. I've seen those with two piece stocks and an attractive price tag, however, I don't want to buy something cheap that's not going to last.
Having said this, does anyone know of a dealer/builder in or near East Tennessee where I could go to actually put eyes and hands on a flintlock before purchasing (not Academy, Dicks, etc.)? I have purchased percussion guns from Dixie Gun Works and supplies from Track of the Wolf. I also saw a few rifles at Martins Station this year but would like to see a few more. Thanks.
